Robert Colling­wood set a new na­tion­al in­door shot put record at the Meyo In­vi­ta­tion­al at the Lof­tus Cen­tre, in Notre Dame, In­di­ana, USA on the week­end. The South­ern Mis­sis­sip­pi stu­dent tossed the iron ball 17.51m to im­prove the pre­vi­ous na­tion­al mark of 17.46m he es­tab­lished in 2011. Colling­wood joins two T&T shot put­ters who were al­ready vic­to­ri­ous on the US Col­le­giate cir­cuit for the 2012 sea­son. Hilenn James cap­tured the Vir­ginia Tech Elite Meet with a heave of 15.43 while An­nie Alexan­der record­ed two wins-Auburn In­vite on Jan­u­ary 21 with 17.70m, and the Ken­tucky In­vi­ta­tion­al on Jan­u­ary 14 with 16.08m.
