Headley/Weekes trophy for regional tournament

Winners of this year’s Regional four-day tournament which started last week will be awarded the Headley/Weekes trophy in honour of West Indies greats George Headley and Sir Everton Weekes. A number of other individual awards will also be handed out to the outstanding players during the tournament in cluding the Vivian Richards award for the most runs and the Courtney Walsh award for the most wickets.
 
Other prizes
Fielding (Most Catches)—The Clive Lloyd Award
Allrounder (Leading Allrounder)—The Malcolm Marshall Award
Wicket-keeping (Most Dismissals)—The Deryck Murray Award
Most Promising Fast Bowler—The Andy Roberts Award
 
Three teams recorded outright wins in the first round which ended on the weekend. They were T&T who beat the CCC; Guyana who whipped the Leewards and Jamaica who outbattled the Windwards.
 
This weekend fixtures are as follows:
Friday—Monday 
CCC vs Leewards at 3Ws Oval, Barbados
Jamaica vs Barbados at Sabina Park, Jamaica
Windwards vs Guyana at Windsor Park, Dominica
Bye: T&T.
