The Ale­scon Comets Sports Club in con­junc­tion with KFC will be launch­ing the KFC/Comets Youth De­vel­op­ment Pro­gramme 2012 at 4 pm, to­day at the Pierre Road Recre­ation Ground in, Char­lieville. Comets Crick­et Club of­fi­cial Su­ruj Ra­goonath said the launch will take place with over 75 kids present. Ac­cord­ing to the for­mer Test play­er, turned tele­vi­sion host: "We have been host­ing this pro­gramme in con­junc­tion with KFC for the past few years and it has re­al­ly been suc­cess­ful. To­day, the club has lost some top play­ers but yet re­main com­pet­i­tive be­cause we have through this de­vel­op­ment pro­gramme, pro­duced qual­i­ty young crick­eters. "This has helped the club sur­vive and I want to say a heart­felt thanks to the spon­sors, as well as all the of­fi­cials and sup­port­ers of the club who have as­sist­ed in mak­ing this a suc­cess."
