A tidy all-round show­ing from Barisal Burn­ers helped them to a 22-run win against Duron­to Ra­jshahi. This was Barisal's sec­ond win in the Bangladesh Pre­mier League as many days, while Ra­jshahi slipped to a sec­ond suc­ces­sive de­feat.

Choos­ing to bat, Barisal were propped up by their open­ing pair of Chris Gayle and Ahmed She­hzad. They put on 82 in 8.1 overs, be­fore Gayle fell. She­hzad, how­ev­er, hung around till the 14th over, knock­ing around four fours and six six­es in a 40-ball 67. The oth­er two bats­men who had the chance to bat, cap­tain Shahri­ar Nafees and Brad Hodge, built on the plat­form laid by the open­ers.

While Nafees ticked over the score­board with 28 not out off 32, Hodge pro­vid­ed the late surge. He hit un­beat­en 38 off 25 balls to car­ry Barisal to 180 for 2. An­dre Rus­sell turned in a strong all-round per­for­mance, hit­ting 37 and tak­ing four wick­ets, to help Khul­na Roy­al Ben­gals beat Dha­ka Glad­i­a­tors by 19 runs. Chas­ing 176, Dha­ka lost their way in the mid­dle overs and in the end their star hit­ter Kieron Pol­lard ran out of part­ners. Khul­na's high­est stand was 71 for the third wick­et be­tween Dwayne Smith and Shak­ib Al Hasan. The left-arm spin­ner Moshar­raf Hos­sain broke the part­ner­ship when he had Smith caught for 37. Shak­ib fell soon af­ter, bowled by Naved-ul-Hasan. Rus­sell en­ter­tained the crowd with two lusty blows over deep mid­wick­et for six to pro­pel Khul­na to a score that was to test the Dha­ka line-up.
