De­spite go­ing un­der to Queen's Park in the fi­nal round yes­ter­day, south­ern pow­er­house Pow­er­Gen will play Moo­sai Sports in the quar­ter-fi­nals of the Sun­day League crick­et se­ries to­day at Syne Vil­lage, Pe­nal to­day. The Pow­er­Gen sup­port­ers will be keen to wel­come home Dave Mo­hammed who now plays for Moo­sai Sports. Mo­hammed was a main­stay for the club for over a decade and will be look­ing to pull one over his for­mer club. Yes­ter­day, Queen's Park bat­ting first against Pow­er­Gen, was bowled out for 150 in ex­act­ly 50 overs. Top scor­ing was Runako Mor­ton with 25 and al­so get­ting in­to dou­ble fig­ures were Dar­ren Bra­vo 22, and Ri­car­do Paty 21. Na­tion­al off-spin­ner Sher­win Gan­ga con­tin­ued his good form, tak­ing 3/15, while Kavesh Kan­tas­ingh took 2/32 abd Brent Har­riot 3/32.

Sunil Nar­ine then weaved his mag­ic for the Parkites, as they bowled out Pow­er­Gen for 105 in 44 overs. Gibran Mo­hammed top scored with 32, as Nar­ine took 2/9 from eight overs. QPCC will meet Comets to­day in their quar­ter-fi­nal clash at Pierre Road in Char­lieville.Al­though the Parkites topped Group A, they have sur­ren­dered home ad­van­tage be­cause the Queen's Park Oval in not avail­able. Mer­ry­boys fin­ished as win­ners of Group B, af­ter they dis­man­tled Bam­boo by 37 runs at Bam­boo Num­ber 2. Bat­ting first Mer­ry­boys made 174 all out with Clifton Halls get­ting 54, Franklyn Rouse 31 and Al­cin­do Hold­er 25. Bam­boo in re­ply made 137 all out with Dil­lon Pat­tia scor­ing 37 not out and Guyanese Kr­ish­na Ar­june 28. Javed Ramd­hanie con­tin­ued his good form with 4/40, while Emile Ra­jah snared 3/33.
