Aaron Prince showed his true qual­i­ties when he de­feat­ed De­fence Force op­po­nent Leon Not­ting­ham for the wel­ter­weight ti­tle at the Trinidad and To­ba­go Am­a­teur Box­ing As­so­ci­a­tion Na­tion­al Box­ing Cham­pi­onship which came off on Sun­day night at the Wood­work Youth Fa­cil­i­ty, Wood­brook. An­drew Fer­min, who had an in­crease in his weight and had a com­fort­able vic­to­ry over Shel­don Lawrence in the lightheavy weight di­vi­sion. Black Hawks Stephen Charles was dom­i­nat­ed by Michael Alexan­der, who caused the up set of the tour­na­ment when he de­feat­ed Amer­i­can-based Glen­ford Nick­ki Jr in the semi­fi­nal round. An­oth­er Amer­i­can-based, Car­los Surez of Ohio, and Lex­on Bates of On­tario Cana­da both se­cured com­fort­able vic­to­ries in the wel­ter­weight di­vi­sion against Ar­shad Fa­bi­en and Ryan Per­sad re­spec­tive­ly. Alexan­der along with Surez, Fer­min and Bates are some of the fi­nal­ists in-line for Olympic Games qual­i­fiers which will start next month.
