Shenice Crooks is the new Miss Cen­tral Trinidad. Crooks copped the first prize dur­ing the Cou­va Car­ni­val Queen pageant on Sat­ur­day night. The event was held at the pub­lic car in Cou­va. Crooks, 19, of Freeport, beat a field of sev­en con­tes­tants to take home the crown and the $6,000 first prize.

The Freeport beau­ty won Miss El­e­gance, Miss In­tel­li­gence and Best Gown ti­tles. Plac­ing sec­ond was Fe­li­cia Dos San­tos who al­so got the award for Best Cos­tume. Third place was won by Adri­an­na Ram­jat­tan who al­so got the award for Miss Ami­ty.
