Sunil Narine...has created havoc in three matches so far

T&T offspinner Sunil Narine is currently the leading wicket-taker in the Regional Four Day Tournament, despite having played in one less match than the other bowlers in the top five. The 23-year-old, who orchestrated the Red Force's victories over CCC and the Windward Islands, has now taken 31 scalps in three games (ave:9.61). Prior to the tournament, he had appeared in just three First Class matches, during which he managed three wickets. Narine is six victims ahead of Jamaican left arm orthodox bowler Nikita Miller (25 wkts, Ave:11.12) and CCC offspinner Ryan Austin (25 wkts, Ave: 19.20), while fellow spinners Veerasammy Permaul of Guyana (22 wkts, Ave: 20.40) and Jamaican Odean Brown (20 wkts, Ave: 15.75) round out the top five. The next most successful T&T bowlers have been pacer Shannon Gabriel (7 wkts, Ave: 37.85) and medium pacer Rayad Emrit (6 wkts, Ave: 27.50). Meanwhile, national captain Denesh Ramdin is ranked fourth among the leading runscorers with 341 runs (Ave:85.25) in three games. Ahead of him are leader Narsingh Deonarine of Guyana (353 runs, Ave: 44.12), Jamaican Brendan Nash (350 runs, Ave: 87.50) and Guyanese Assad Fudadin (344 runs, Ave: 49.14), each of whom have played in four matches. Darren Bravo (164 runs, Ave: 27.00) and Jason Mohammed (100 runs, Ave: 16.66) are the only other local batsmen to reach the 100-run mark.
