Pun­dit/Sen­sei Rudranath Ma­haraj, the lone pun­dit and karate in­struc­tor in T&T and the Caribbean, was re­cent­ly ap­point­ed chair­man of the T&T Karate Fed­er­a­tion (T&TKF) dis­ci­pli­nary board. Ma­haraj, a stu­dent of Dar­ryl Williams since 1984, is a reg­is­tered Black Belt with the TTKF and the Na­tion­al Black Belt Reg­is­trar. He is a Shi­to-Ryu Karate styl­ist and a se­nior in­struc­tor with Sei Chinte School of Karate and part of the Tri­ad Coun­cil, which over­sees the or­gan­i­sa­tion. He is al­so a reg­is­tered Hin­du pun­dit. He owns and op­er­ates a karate do­jo in Mis­sion Road, Freeport. The TTKF and its dis­ci­pli­nary board have ex­pressed con­fi­dence in his abil­i­ty and be­lieve he will be an as­set to the board.
