Moosai Ladies will seek to continue their winning ways in the second round of the T&T Women's Cricket Association's League competition when they meet Cricket Lovers. The match is set to bowl off at the El Dorado East Secondary in Tunapuna from noon, today. Allrounder Kirbyina Alexander and bowler Kamara Ragoobar will be looked upon to carry the Moosai team through this round as smoothly as they did in the previous round, keeping a close eye on their closest challenger, Phoenix. Moosai and Pheonix have the same number of points but the former is ahead as it holds a better net run rate.
In the first round, Alexander scored an unbeaten half-centuries (60) against Cricket Lovers while Ragoobar recorded the first of two four-wicket hauls 4-15 in Moosai's huge 121-run win. Over at the Couva East Government Secondary, Phoenix will be challenged by Spice Girls. In the opening round, Phoenix came away with a narrow 24-run victory and this was because of the effective bowling of Felicia Walters, who claimed 4-15, Shenelle Lord (2-20) and Amanda Samaroo (2-21). Technocrats, head to Sangre Grande, to face Maaad Rangers at Plum Mitan ground. The reigning champion will aim to recuperate from its awful start, winning only two matches and losing three, to hold fourth spot in the six-team competition.
