The final two spots for promotion into the National Super League will be determined this evening when the fifth and final match day closes in the "Champions of Champions" qualifying competition. After several years of failed qualification campaigns in its attempt to break into T&T's second tier football league, Siparia Spurs has finally done so, and with a match to spare. However, three other teams, Petit Valley United, Biche United and 1st FC Santa Rosa, will all be in battle this evening, for the two remaining promotion spots. Petit Valley and Biche United, both sitting on seven points, will battle at UTT Ground, O'Meara from 6 pm. A draw may be enough for both sides to advance, depending on results elsewhere.
At the same time, Harlem Strikers, which are out of contention for qualification will host already promoted Siparia Spurs. In the other match, 1st FC Santa Rosa, which is seeking its first taste of Super League football since establishing its men's senior team in 2010, will host St Clair Coaching School at Ojoe Road Recreation Ground, Sangre Grande, from 4 pm. St Clair, Tobago's Premier League Champions, are still mathematically in the competition but will require a win by four or more clear goals, and hope that Petit Valley and Biche do not draw, to stand a chance of qualifying. A win for Santa Rosa will assure the team a place in the National Super League next season, while even a draw may be enough to send the team through.
