The Uni­ver­si­ty of T&T (UTT) de­mand­ed much from Can­dace Guerero and she re­spond­ed by help­ing them to three ti­tles in the Pre­mier­ship Di­vi­sion and for this the na­tion­al cen­tre-court play­er was named the Most Valu­able Play­er (MVP) of the Courts All Sec­tors Net­ball League (ASNL). This was an­nounced at the awards cer­e­mo­ny held at the East­ern Re­gion­al In­door Sports Are­na in Tacarigua on Fri­day evening. Guerero guid­ed UTT to the league, Fast­net and the open­ing day knock­out crowns. The south­ern­er al­so made the ASNL All Star team along with team­mates Saman­tha Wal­lace, Janelle Bark­er, Tri­cia Liv­er­pool and Kielle Con­nel­ly. Six-foot­er Wal­lace, who is a mem­ber of the na­tion­al se­nior net­ball and ju­nior vol­ley­ball team, was the top shoot­er this sea­son with an 81.43 per cent ac­cu­ra­cy.

Sec­ond was an­oth­er na­tion­al shoot­er, Anas­ta­sia Wil­son, who op­er­at­ed with the Fire team this year, shoot­ing with an ac­cu­ra­cy of 81.38 per­cent. Gur­shi­er Grant, a for­mer na­tion­al shoot­er was third with 77.92 per cent. Oth­er awards pre­sent­ed were for the best de­fend­er which was col­lect­ed by Con­nel­ly and best cen­tre-court Rhon­da John-Davis, who pi­lot­ed Po­lice to the Pre­mier­ship knock­out ti­tle and sec­ond place in the league com­pe­ti­tion. Ni­na Jor­dan emerged the top play­er for Fire. She helped the fire­women cop the in­au­gur­al Steve Sar­jeant Chal­lenge while fin­ish­ing run­ner-up in the Fast­net and the open­ing day knock­out com­pe­ti­tions and plac­ing third in the league. Fire was one ti­tle short of mak­ing a clean sweep of the Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion, lift­ing the Jean Pierre Chal­lenge Tro­phy, the di­vi­sion­al knock­out, Fast­net and the open­ing day knock­out crowns.

The Fire unit missed out on the league ti­tle, plac­ing sec­ond to the Po­lice of­fi­cers. Fire's Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion squad was al­so named the most im­proved team. Aman­da Cameron was key to Fire's suc­cess and for that she was named the team's MVP. Vet­er­an play­er Bev­er­ly Her­nan­dez was best among the shoot­ers in the di­vi­sion with a per­cent­age of 69.64. Sec­ond was Jabloteh's Saman­tha James (64.54 per cent) and third was Her­nan­dez's team­mate, an­oth­er vet­er­an, Bev­er­ly Rodgers (63.88 per cent). TSTT was dom­i­nant in the Al­ter­na­tive Di­vi­sion, pick­ing up the league, di­vi­sion­al and open­ing day knock­out ti­tles and plac­ing sec­ond in the Fast­net com­pe­ti­tion.
