T&T's six-mem­ber squad will ped­al-off in pur­suit for suc­cess at the Ju­nior Pan Amer­i­can Cham­pi­onship, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, to­day. The team, con­sist­ing of Ak­il Camp­bell, Samuel Ma­habir, Kwe­si Browne, Justin Roberts, Az­iza Browne and Jo­di Goodridge, is among the largest teams of cy­clists to take to the Guatemalan tracks of the 25 par­tic­i­pat­ing Pan Amer­i­can coun­tries. Coach Robert Far­rel Jr, man­ag­er Fitzroy Daniel and me­chan­ic Christo­pher Pitt, al­so made the trip.

Both Browne (Ak­il) and Goodridge are pop­u­lar se­lec­tions to take medals at the se­ries of events, which con­cludes on Sun­day. Goodridge cur­rent­ly holds the record in the fly­ing 200m track event at the Ari­ma Vele­drome, and is hop­ing to bet­ter her per­for­mance from the pre­vi­ous Pan Am Cham­pi­onship ap­pear­ance, which saw her fin­ish fourth in the match sprint and the 500m events, and fifth in the kieren. It will be her third Pan Amer­i­can ap­pear­ance. The women will first be in ac­tion to­day in the 500m time tri­al event, be­fore the men take to the team sprint and scratch race events. The team will be in ac­tion in all six days of cy­cling.
