LU­CAS STREET- West In­dies Women de­feat­ed Sri Lan­ka Women by 45 runs un­der the Duck­worth/Lewis method in their rain-hit third and fi­nal One-Day In­ter­na­tion­al at the Wind­ward Crick­et Club yes­ter­day to win the se­ries 2-1.

Sent in to bat, the Caribbean women got good scores from Shanel Da­ley (63) and Stafanie Tay­lor (44) who shared a sec­ond wick­et part­ner­ship of 74. But apart from the pair and skip­per Meris­sa Aguil­liera, who struck a rapid un­beat­en 20 at the end of the in­nings, none of the oth­er bat­ters got go­ing.

Spin­ner Shashikala Siri­war­de­na who grabbed 4-40 was Sri Lan­ka's best bowler. In their turn at the crease, Sri Lan­ka nev­er looked like­ly to chal­lenge and wick­ets fell reg­u­lar­ly. Siri­war­de­na en­joyed a good all­round per­for­mance, top­scor­ing with 34 while Sri­pali Weer­akkody made 29. Da­ley who was vot­ed play­er of the se­ries, fol­lowed up with 3-25 while Sub­ri­na Munroe took 3-15 and Tay­lor 2-10.
