Five dif­fer­ent play­ers were on tar­get as Notre Dame whipped Ven­tures 5-2 to close the gap on leader Paragon to one point in the T&T Hock­ey Board Women's Cham­pi­onship at the Na­tion­al Hock­ey Cen­tre, Tacarigua, on Sun­day night. Tama­ra De No­bri­ga, Pa­t­ri­na Brath­waite, Arielle du Ques­nay, Blair Wynn and Dana-Lee De Gannes all found the back of the net for the Dames while Nata­ki Akii Bua and Lind­say Williams got Ven­tures replies. With the win, the Dames im­proved to 15 points from six match­es, one be­hind Paragon and a match left to play to com­plete its first round cam­paign while Ven­tures stayed sixth with sev­en points.

In the oth­er women's en­counter on the night, Mindy Charles scored the lone goal as Har­vard Mar­itime Check­ers sealed the last re­main­ing qual­i­fi­ca­tion spot for the "Big-Four" with a 1-0 win over Paragon. Check­ers, which will face Paragon in its fi­nal first round match now has 12 points from six match­es, one ahead of Shandy Carib Mag­no­lias, which has played its sev­en match­es. The oth­er qual­i­fi­er for the women's "Big-Four" is de­fend­ing league cham­pi­on Malvern, third on the ta­ble with 13 points. The four qual­i­fiers from the Men's Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion for the Big-Four se­ries have al­ready been de­ter­mined in de­fend­ing league cham­pi­on, Petrotrin (18 points), Paragon (15 points), last year's win­ners De­fence Force (15 points) and Queen's Park (12 points).
