Olympic cy­cling prospect, Njisane Phillip, win­ner in the Match Sprint event at the re­cent­ly con­clud­ed Pan Amer­i­can Cham­pi­onship, has se­cured the spon­sor­ship of bot­tled-wa­ter com­pa­ny Oa­sis Pre­mi­um Pu­ri­fied Wa­ter. Oa­sis has signed on to be­come Phillip's of­fi­cial bot­tled-wa­ter spon­sor as he pre­pares for the Lon­don 2012 Olympics, this sum­mer. Oa­sis, and its par­ent com­pa­ny SM Jaleel, which has been in­volved in the spon­sor­ship of sev­er­al sports lo­cal­ly, has said that it is "thrilled to be a part of the young ath­lete's growth," ac­cord­ing to SM Jaleel's Group Mar­ket­ing Man­ag­er, Donel­la de Ver­teuil. "We be­lieve in Caribbean tal­ent and have al­ways been proud to sup­port lo­cal and re­gion­al ath­letes. Oa­sis Pre­mi­um Pu­ri­fied Wa­ter is proud to be an in­te­gral part of Njisane's jour­ney to suc­cess," de Ver­teuil con­tin­ued.

In re­sponse, Phillip laud­ed the spon­sor say­ing, "For a com­pa­ny like Oa­sis to come on board with me is re­al­ly im­por­tant and I am very em­pow­ered by their de­ci­sion to in­vest in my de­vel­op­ment. Af­ter all the gov­ern­ment can't be ex­pect­ed to do every­thing." Phillip has im­pressed in re­cent years, and has made waves in the last six months with a num­ber of world class per­for­mances. "It means a lot for me to rep­re­sent T&T at the high­est lev­el, I have had to sac­ri­fice a lot and have been train­ing re­al­ly hard since I was 17 years old so this is a dream come true," he said on the achieve­ments. Njisane was re­cent­ly con­firmed as qual­i­fied for the up­com­ing Lon­don Olympics and de­spite know­ing that all eyes will be on him in his prepa­ra­tion for the Games just around the cor­ner, he in­sist­ed that he feels no pres­sure. "It's all on me to make good of all the ded­i­ca­tion and hard work I put in," he said.
