CHENNAI- West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo took two key wickets but his Chennai Super Kings still came up short as Kolkata Knight Riders, featuring another West Indies player Sunil Narine, clinched a five-wicket win in the last over in the Indian Premier League yesterday. Batting first after winning the toss at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai tallied 139 for five with Bravo getting a run-a-ball 12. Suresh Raina top-scored with 44 from 34 balls while Narine continued to mystify batsmen, taking one from 24 from four tight overs of off-spin.
Opener Gautam Gambhir then stroked 63 from 52 balls to lead Kolkata's reply but was one of two Bravo wickets, as his side slipped to 124 for four in the 19th over. Bravo, who finished with two for 27, also claimed danger man Jacques Kallis for 26 to break a threatening 70-run, second wicket stand with Gambhir. Needing six from the last over, Kolkata got the required runs with two balls to spare. The win ensured Kolkata stays in second place with six wins, three losses and a no-result from ten games. Chennai has four wins, five losses and a no-result.
