Medium pacer Anand Ajodha grabbed seven wickets against Dow Village, to give F&E Diamond United a ten-wicket victory in round seven of the Colfire South Cricket Championship. The win gives Diamond 25 points, which takes them to the top of the standings with 115 points after seven rounds. Batting first Dow was bowled out for 108 with Ajodha taking 3/17 and Totaram Bishun 4/23. Diamond on the back of an unbeaten 59 from Ricardo Jadoonath then declared their first innings at 159 for three. Facing a deficit on first innings of 51 runs, Dow was bowled out for 61 in their second innings. Ajodha was again up to his bag of tricks, taking 4/13, while Bishun took 3/18. Diamond then easily completed victory at 11 without loss.
Keeping up the pressure on Diamond is Valients who got a first innings win over Yorkshire. Pacer Xavier Gabriel was at his best and took eight wickets for 24 runs. Valients in reply then reached 203/3 declared with the consistent Akiel Timothy scoring 57 not out. Batting a second time Yorkshire got assistance from the rain, as they ended on 62/6. In third position is Evergreen, who unfortunately had a no-result in their clash against Rousillac. Javed Mohammed 32 and Keshava Ramphal 26 took their team to 233 all out and Rousillac were interesting placed on 162 for six when rain put paid to the game.
