Phoenix Women will battle Technocrats in one of two semifinal matches carded today in the T&T Women's Cricket Association knockout competition. The teams will meet at Couva East Secondary from noon. The other semifinal match will be between Moosai Ladies and Spice Girls at El Dorado West Secondary at the same time. Phoenix advanced with an easy 105 run win over Achivers Women last Saturday when the teams met in the opening round.
Amanda Samaroo scored a half-century (57) and Felicia Walters added an unbeaten 40 to give Phoenix a good score of 165 for three from their 30 overs. In reply, Achievers were bowled out for a meagre 60 runs in 25.1 overs. Nicole Sterling was best with ball for the winner with 2/15. Technocrats progressed after beating Hibiscus Ladies by 39 runs. West Indies' Deandra Dottin contributed with both bat and ball for Technocrats, topscoring with 37 to help her team to 147 for six from their 30 overs. She then troubled Hibiscus Ladies with the ball, having them all out for 108 in 27.1 overs. Dottin claimed 3 for 13. Moosai moved into the semifinal round after defeating San Rafael Ladies while Spice Girls eliminated Cricket Lovers.
