Cale­do­nia Clip­pers re­bound­ed from its re­cent loss to Na­tion­al Flour Mills in the North Zone Bas­ket­ball Com­mis­sion First Di­vi­sion, by crush­ing Pis­tons 92-51 at the Jean Pierre Com­plex, Wright­son Road, on Sun­day evening. The at­tack­ing on­slaught was mas­ter­mind­ed by Ker­win Lares and Ak­il Payn­ter, who sank 25 and 20 points, re­spec­tive­ly. Clip­pers ab­solute­ly dom­i­nat­ed the match from the on­set, and was eas­i­ly on top of the match when it led 50-21 at the half. Pis­tons for­ward Andy Ger­main had a sol­id out­ing, as he fin­ished on 21 points, but could not steer Pis­tons to a re­spectable score­line.

There was a Sec­ond Di­vi­sion match al­so played on Sat­ur­day, with Ray­mond Reid edg­ing Bri­an Chase Vet­er­ans 52-50. Both teams were even­ly matched through­out, and the fi­nal score in­di­cat­ed that both teams scored ex­act­ly the same num­ber of points in the sec­ond half, as they did in the first. Ray­mond Reid held the slight­est of leads, 26-25 at the half, and mir­rored its per­for­mance in the open­ing two pe­ri­ods to take the nar­row win in the end. A day pri­or, Po­lice won its first match of the Men's First Di­vi­sion cam­paign shun­ning San Juan War­riors 74-60. Af­ter los­ing its five pre­vi­ous fix­ture, Po­lice, led by Randy Greenidge (18 points) and Phillip Alexan­der (13 points) main­tained strong form from the first half, when it led 38-24.

Ko­ry Lee­hood was the War­riors' top per­former with 10 points. Courts Hori­zon, mean­while, put on a strong show­ing in the Women's Di­vi­sion to ease past De­fence Force 82-69. Joelisa Coop­er, An­no­la Charles and Na­tal­ie Pe­ters all per­formed well tak­ing, 18, 17 and 14 points, re­spec­tive­ly. Ali­cia Liv­er­pool, rolled back the years with a sol­id per­for­mance, which saw her take 34 points, but her tal­ly, un­for­tu­nate­ly will like­ly be for­got­ten af­ter the heavy loss for the "Army-coast­guard com­bi­na­tion" of women.
