For the first time in the his­to­ry of do­mes­tic crick­et three cen­tral teams have been de­mot­ed. For­mer pow­er­hous­es Ale­scon Comets, Preysal and Cen­tral Sports have all been de­mot­ed af­ter a poor sea­son in the top flight the Pre­mier­ship crick­et league. Ale­scon Comets will go to the North Cham­pi­onship in 2013, Cen­tral Sports will play in the Cen­tral Cham­pi­onship and Preysal will take part in the South Cham­pi­onship. Aran­quez Sports club who won the North Cham­pi­onship this sea­son, comes in­to the top flight, which they have played in be­fore. Cal­drac from Cen­tral al­so makes it big, as well as F&E Di­a­mond Unit­ed who won the South Cham­pi­onship by just one point over Va­lients.

In the Cham­pi­onship di­vi­sion two from the North will al­so be de­mot­ed to the North Zone and the North East Zone, while two from the Cen­tral will be de­mot­ed to the East Zone and the Cen­tral Zone and three from the South Cham­pi­onship will go to the South West Zone, South Zone and South East Zone. Di­a­mond Unit­ed who won the South Zone will be play­ing in the Pre­mier­ship for the first time and pres­i­dent of the club Bri­an Julien says that one of the chal­lenges will be fi­nance. "It cost us about $100,000 to run the club dur­ing this suc­cess­ful sea­son gone by and it would cost us a lot more when we play in the Pre­mier­ship next sea­son. Our spon­sors Franklyn and Er­rol Elec­tri­cal has been very kind to us in the past and we hope to con­tin­ue our ex­cel­lent re­la­tion­ship with them. "When you go in­to the top flight you need to spend more to bet­ter pre­pare your team and of course you might want to ac­quire the ser­vices of one or two big name play­ers which will cost a lot. "How­ev­er, we have worked very hard to get to this stage and we in­tend to do all that is nec­es­sary to stay there and be com­pet­i­tive."
