Bel­mont Boys RC con­tin­ued their strug­gle in the At­lantic Pri­ma­ry Schools North Cham­pi­onships, go­ing down to last year's win­ners San­gre Grande Hin­du by 41 runs in their lat­est match. Ri­car­do Mon­segue scored 20 to take San­gre Grande Hin­du to 116 for nine off 20 overs. Sachin Sood­een then rout­ed Bel­mont Boys for just 75 runs, snar­ing 4/9 off four fours. Mean­while, Tu­na­puna Pres­by­ter­ian has tak­en the lead in Group A of the North Cham­pi­onship with sev­en points af­ter three match­es. The man be­hind their suc­cess has been Kishorn Bap­tiste, who scored an un­beat­en 48 in their last match. Lead­ing the North B Cham­pi­onship is Whim AC out of To­ba­go with two wins from as many match­es, tal­ly­ing six points.

In the South Cham­pi­onships, Point Fortin AS­JA con­tin­ued their win­ning ways. Field­ing first against Broth­ers Pres­by­ter­ian, AS­JA hum­bled them for just 58. Top-scor­ing for Broth­ers was S Har­richa­ran with 17. Hasim Headley was again among the bowlers tak­ing 2 for 13. He was how­ev­er up­staged by his younger broth­er, Khayyam, who took 3 for 3 in two overs which in­clud­ed the on­ly maid­en bowled in the en­tire match. Al­so among the wick­ets was Re­nar­do Soogrim who took 2 for 18.

In re­ply, Point Fortin AS­JA romped home scor­ing 61 for the loss of two wick­ets in 9.1 overs. Josh Na­gaur again top scored with an un­beat­en 29 which in­clud­ed four fours.With him at the end was Leeron Pe­ters who was 10 not out. He cracked 2 fours in that knock. By virtue of two back-to-back wins, Point Fortin AS­JA has qual­i­fied for the na­tion­al quar­ter­fi­nals. They car­ry the hopes and as­pi­ra­tions of the en­tire St Patrick Ed­u­ca­tion Dis­trict as Clarke Rochard Gov­ern­ment failed to ad­vance fol­low­ing two suc­ces­sive de­feats.
