Sir Michael Stoute has his first runner of Royal Ascot week 2012 at Wolverhampton, on the polytrack! Thrice-raced, Savida is one of ten declarations for the Maiden Stakes over twelve furlongs and stable-jockey, Ryan Moore is tasked with responsibility of making this well-bred, King's Best filly a winner. Until able to gain 'winning brackets' Savida will be one of thousands unable to fully justify going to stud. For this reason, punters know they are on a dead-set trier which, to all intents and purposes, is very important. That's strong you might think. Definitely but I'm not happy with several rides this season and earnestly believe there could be a 'jockey's ring' in operation. Many years ago, one brought up this taboo subject and sure enough it was proven, leading to jockeys being warned off. Two 'jocks' still aren't able to obtain their English licenses, despite having served their sentences and not surprisingly, are suitably tarnished!
Moore couldn't possibly be involved in such crap, genuine as the day is light and Savida only has to beat twice-raced, Roger Varian-trained, Moratab to become valuable. Later, Supreme Quest will also need to finally gain an elusive success in the Maiden Stakes over six furlongs to appeal as a broodmare. Trainer Roger Charlton appears to have found an outstanding opportunity for this filly by Australian-bred sire, Exceed And Excel, a sensation and much sought after. Supreme Quest is napped but it was a close call because twice-raced, Nabucco looks gilt-edged for the Maiden Stakes over ten furlongs of 'soft' Windsor ground tonight. Monday evening by the Thames-side course is a must for the 'City' dwellers, who come out and play very big - with their extortionate wages. Many of 'em have a small fortune, having started with a big 'un! Racing is the toughest game in the world, only a small percentage don't lose and even fewer can make it pay!
