Four dif­fer­ent play­ers were on tar­get as De­fence Force out­played Po­lice 4-2 in the "Bat­tle of Ser­vices" in the T&T Hock­ey Board Mixed Vet­er­ans Di­vi­sion at the Na­tion­al Hock­ey Cen­tre, Tacarigua on Mon­day night. An­ton Reyes, Neil Lash­ley, Avonelle Lee-Hug­gins and Bri­an Bur­roughs were all on tar­get for the "Teteron Boys" who moved up to third with 22 points from 11 match­es af­ter the win while Glen­non Fon­cette and An­tho­ny Reyes net­ted for Po­lice. How­ev­er, Queen's Park can move to with­in a point of a sec­ond straight ti­tle in the Mixed Di­vi­sion to­mor­row from 8 pm with a win over Carib, in a match re-sched­uled from Mon­day night. The Parkites cur­rent­ly lead the eight-team ta­ble with 30 points from 11 match­es, six ahead of Notre Dame which has on­ly one match left to play. Third placed De­fence Force is the on­ly team that can catch the Parkites as it lies nine points off the lead with three to play. But in or­der to claim the ti­tle, De­fence Force must win its re­main­ing match­es and hope the Parkites fal­ter in all last last three match­es.
