Nicholas Clarke

The BG T&T-spon­sored team of Deryck Gon­za­lves and Er­ic Grif­fith fin­ished with a score of 44 to win the 10th an­nu­al Cot­ton Tree Char­i­ty Tour­na­ment at the St An­drews Golf Club on Wednes­day. The pair shot 22 on the front nine and 22 on the back to edge South­ern Whole­sale Stores' Wayne Ali and Mau­rice Mathu­ra, who shot 43 (23+20), and Neal & Massy's Trent Noel and Cur­tis Moses (42) for the top spot. Round­ing out the top five were KP­MG's Raoul John and Dushyant Sookram (41) and Blink/bmo­bile's Deryck Cha­nardip and Dave Ra­jku­mar (40).

For their ef­forts, Gon­za­lves and Grif­fith won a week­end stay at Mag­dale­na Grand Beach Re­sort in To­ba­go, two Call­away Golf Bags au­to­graphed by Phil Michel­son and re­turn air­line tick­ets to To­ba­go. Ali and Mathu­ra were pre­sent­ed with a week­end stay at Blue Hori­zon Re­sort, To­ba­go and re­turn air­line tick­ets. This year, five stu­dents spon­sored by Trin­i­ty Cham­bers and Blink/bmo­bile par­tic­i­pat­ed in the tour­na­ment. They in­clud­ed At­i­ba Charles, Ka­ri­na Matabadal, Arvin Bhim, Jameel St Rose and Chris­t­ian Townsend. Bhim went on to win Near­est The Pin Hole No7 at a dis­tance of six feet, nine inch­es. (NC)
