Road cycle race replaces KGV criterium today

The T&T Cycling Federation’s Criterium race scheduled for today at King George V Park in St Clair has been cancelled due to the cricket in the Queen’s Park Oval between India and West Indies A Teams. The event has been replaced by a road race starting at the Foreshore car park in Mucurapo. The cyclists will head west, making a u-turn at the lights before moving east, turning left on to Colville Street and heading north on to Cipriani Boulevard then to the Savannah (Queen’s Park West). They will proceed to the St Ann’s Roundabout, taking the Lady Young Road to Morvant junction on to the Churchill Roosevelt Highway to Wallerfield.
 
They will then proceed to the Milk Road on to the Eastern Main Road heading to Sangre Grande on to the Toco Road through Valencia back to the Eastern Main Road heading back to the Lookout on the Lady Young Road, to the finish line.Registration will begin at 6.15 am and close at 6.45 am at a cost of $20. Any cyclist/club not registered will not be permitted to take part in the race. Cyclists are asked to walk with their numbers and must use their club uniforms. In this race, tinymites and Over 60s will start at Nestle on the Highway and end at the Pillars in Santa Rosa. Ladies and juveniles finish at the top of the hill in Valencia. This is the final race in the TTCF’s Road League and all cyclists must ride in their category. Prizes will be distributed at the finish on the Lookout.
