England-based T&T hockey player/coach Kwandwane Browne will conduct coaching clinics with both the under-21 men and women's hockey team over from tomorrow until Wednesday July 11 at the National Hockey Centre, Tacarigua. The intensive training clinics are being used by both teams as part of their preperation for the Junior Pan American Hockey Championships, Guadalajara, Mexico from September 13-23 and will be preceded by a training camp in Cuba from July 20-29, 2012. In Mexico, the national junior men's team will compete in Pool A alongside Argentina, Panama, Jamaica and Brazil.
Barbados, the other Caribbean team in the competition is in Pool C with Chile, USA and Venezuela while Pool B comprises Canada, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Uruguay. From the tournament, the top two teams will qualify for the FIH 10th Men's Junior World Cup while the third-placed finisher will be first reserve country. For the women's event, T&T is in Pool A with Argentina, Jamaica, Paraguay, and Venezuela. Pool B comprises Barbados, Brazil, Mexico and USA while Pool C consist of Bermuda, Canada, Chile and Uruguay. At the end of the women's tourney, the top three teams will qualify for the FIH 7th Women's Junior World Cup.
