Eng­land-based T&T hock­ey play­er/coach Kwand­wane Browne will con­duct coach­ing clin­ics with both the un­der-21 men and women's hock­ey team over from to­mor­row un­til Wednes­day Ju­ly 11 at the Na­tion­al Hock­ey Cen­tre, Tacarigua. The in­ten­sive train­ing clin­ics are be­ing used by both teams as part of their preper­a­tion for the Ju­nior Pan Amer­i­can Hock­ey Cham­pi­onships, Guadala­jara, Mex­i­co from Sep­tem­ber 13-23 and will be pre­ced­ed by a train­ing camp in Cu­ba from Ju­ly 20-29, 2012. In Mex­i­co, the na­tion­al ju­nior men's team will com­pete in Pool A along­side Ar­genti­na, Pana­ma, Ja­maica and Brazil.

Bar­ba­dos, the oth­er Caribbean team in the com­pe­ti­tion is in Pool C with Chile, USA and Venezuela while Pool B com­pris­es Cana­da, Guatemala, Mex­i­co, Puer­to Ri­co and Uruguay. From the tour­na­ment, the top two teams will qual­i­fy for the FIH 10th Men's Ju­nior World Cup while the third-placed fin­ish­er will be first re­serve coun­try. For the women's event, T&T is in Pool A with Ar­genti­na, Ja­maica, Paraguay, and Venezuela. Pool B com­pris­es Bar­ba­dos, Brazil, Mex­i­co and USA while Pool C con­sist of Bermu­da, Cana­da, Chile and Uruguay. At the end of the women's tour­ney, the top three teams will qual­i­fy for the FIH 7th Women's Ju­nior World Cup.
