Lo­cal box­er Ar­shad Fa­biean is call­ing out Olympic-bound box­er Car­los Suarez to the ring be­fore he de­parts for the Lon­don Games. The duo is ex­pect­ed to clash to­day, at the Jean Pierre Com­plex Box­ing Gym, at 5 pm. Fa­biean makes the calls fol­low­ing state­ments Suarez made to the me­dia last Thurs­day say­ing that there's not enough qual­i­ty spar­ring in T&T. "Part of me was an­gry but, I was more dis­ap­point­ed to hear Car­los say­ing such a thing, when in truth and in fact I had just pub­licly put a beat­ing on him in full glare of the me­dia," says an in­fu­ri­at­ed Fa­biean. The Mag­ic Box­ing Gym mem­ber said that since he de­feat­ed Suarez in a bout on Thurs­day, the US-born ath­lete has been evad­ing him.

"Since that beat­ing on Thurs­day Car­los has been run­ning from me. He was sup­posed to spar with me on Sat­ur­day, but in­stead he's claim­ing he doesn't want to spar un­til he goes to Cardiff. I want to spar with him in pub­lic re­al­ly bad so I can show how much I have im­proved. "Yes Car­los beat me in the Cham­pi­onships and got the nudge to go to the Olympic Qual­i­fi­er, but that was the on­ly time we met. Just re­mem­ber Du­ran beat Leonard in their first meet­ing, the world knows what hap­pened af­ter, it was "no mass no mass" for Du­ran – Leonard; for Suarez and me "it's no spar no spar." Fa­biean is call­ing on the Olympian to take him on in the ring be­fore he de­parts for the Lon­don Olympics.

"I am call­ing out Suarez to come spar with me be­fore he goes off to Lon­don. Let the coun­try see what our box­ing rep­re­sen­ta­tive is made of. I guar­an­tee it is a big lie that there isn't prop­er spar­ring for Car­los. He has me who is beat­ing the end out of him, he has my lit­tle broth­er who he can bare­ly man­age and he has Michael Alexan­der who will give him a box­ing les­son. "Suarez is play­ing smart with fool­ish­ness. We are all in camp to­geth­er at the Ali­cia's Palace and we are all out work­ing him in the phys­i­cal area, we are out work­ing him in our drills. Right now in the strength and con­di­tion­ing ar­eas he can­not match up to me and I am lit­er­al­ly run­ning him out of the gym. "I didn't like how he fouled my lit­tle broth­er at a spar­ring ses­sion, he hit him af­ter the bell was rung, I want him to try that with me. All we are try­ing to do is to help Car­los with his spar­ring in prepa­ra­tion for his fight at the Olympics in Lon­don. "Car­los should put up or shut up and come spar with me in pub­lic be­fore he goes off to Lon­don!"
