Charles reigns for another year at Eugene’s Draughts

Andy Charles successfully defended his draughts title at Eugene and Associates’ tenth annual Draughts and Table Tennis tournament on June 19 at the San Rafael Community Centre, San Rafael. Charles beat Gregory Herbert and Timothy Dennis who placed second and third respectively. In the table tennis competition, Lenoy Gabriel, John Springes and Yuvaaj Dookpah all emerged winners.

Gabriel topped Sheeraz Hosein (second) and Ramon Rowe (third) in the beginners category. Springes was in great form, getting the better of Alwyn Rowe and Pefu Samuel who completed the top three order in the seniors division. Springes also went on to take bronze in the open category which was won by Dookpah followed by Wayne Odit in second.
