The Min­istry of Sport host­ed its 19th an­nu­al Na­tion­al Youth Sports Fes­ti­val at the Or­ange Grove Sa­van­nah and the East­ern Re­gion­al In­door Sport­ing Are­na, Tacarigua, on Sat­ur­day. It was a day full of fun and en­joy­ment. Co-or­di­na­tor of the event was As­sis­tant Di­rec­tor Phys­i­cal Ed­u­ca­tion and Sport Ruth Marchan who said that a lot of hid­den tal­ent was iden­ti­fied. The high­light of the day was the track and field event which was ini­ti­at­ed by the Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary Ash­win Creed and su­per­vised by Sport De­vel­op­ment Of­fi­cers Ken­rick Williams, who is a long and mid­dle dis­tance run­ner and Ale­jan­dro Acos­ta. Al­so present were Ed­die Hart and Sen­a­tor Win­ston Williams ju­nior min­is­ter of State in the Min­istry of Sport, Ed­u­ca­tion, Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment and Spe­cial Projects from An­tigua and Bermu­da. Sen­a­tor Williams was im­pressed by the huge turnout at the event. A num­ber of youths left the event hap­py as they were award­ed tro­phies and cash prizes. Mem­o­ra­bil­ia were al­so giv­en out.
