The Ministry of Sport hosted its 19th annual National Youth Sports Festival at the Orange Grove Savannah and the Eastern Regional Indoor Sporting Arena, Tacarigua, on Saturday. It was a day full of fun and enjoyment. Co-ordinator of the event was Assistant Director Physical Education and Sport Ruth Marchan who said that a lot of hidden talent was identified. The highlight of the day was the track and field event which was initiated by the Permanent Secretary Ashwin Creed and supervised by Sport Development Officers Kenrick Williams, who is a long and middle distance runner and Alejandro Acosta. Also present were Eddie Hart and Senator  Winston Williams junior minister of State in the Ministry of Sport, Education, Local Government and Special Projects from Antigua and Bermuda. Senator Williams was impressed by the huge turnout at the event. A number of youths left the event happy as they were awarded trophies and cash prizes. Memorabilia were also given out.
