NAAA PRO resigns, thanks supporters

Public Relations Officer of the National Association of Athletic Administration (NAAA) Trevor James has tendered his resignation to the local track and field governing body. In a release sent to the media earlier today, James  stated “New career opportunities before me have now made it very difficult to keep the post as PRO.” James was elected to the post in November 2010 and when contacted for a further comment he replied, “I resigned and that’s it.” Officials at the NAAA office indicated that no such information was received from James and questions should be directed to him. Salvador, but on his return to the country on Monday he saw an email from James indicating that he had resigned. 

 

Serette said the NAAA will issue a statement on the matter. However, reports reaching Trinidad Guardian suggest that James’ decision to resign may have followed an executive meeting where James’ performance as PRO was brought into question. James thanked all those who supported him. James is the head coach of the Quantum Athletic Academy. The former national quartermiler represented T&T in the men’s 200m and 4x400m relay at the 1972 Munich Olympics, reaching the quarterfinals of the 200m event. The 63-year-old was a member of this country’s men’s 4x400m team which won bronze at the 1971 Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia. The motivational consultant also served as head coach of the 2005 Carifta Junior team and was a team official with the 2003 and 2011 World Youth contingent.
