Luces is Criterium champ

Bike Smith’s Barry Luces was crowned the National Criterium champion when he edged the Team Trek pair of Gavyn Nero and Gene Samuel to win the Blue Ribbon Elite 24-lap event around King George V Park in St Clair on Sunday.
His teammate Kieana Lester was also in winner’s row, taking the Ladies’ 4-Lap title. Other winners on the day included Parkside’s Justin Roberts (Juniors 20 Laps), Team Trek’s Pat Nelson (60+ Seniors 16 Laps), Stephen Aboud (50+ Seniors 16 Laps), Degree Madonna’s Roger Smart (40+ Seniors 16 Laps), Sonics’ Akiel Campbell (Juveniles 12 Laps) and Petrotrin’s Ramon Belmontes (Tinymites 8 Laps). Cycling action will resume on the weekend of July 28 and 29 with the National BMX and Youth Championships at Skinner Park, San Fernando.
