A record 17 international teams, including five UCI Pro Teams, have been confirmed for the upcoming Tobago International Cycling Classic & UCI 1.2 Tour of Tobago, which will take place on the sister isle from October 2-7. This was revealed by event organiser Jeff Charles via a press release over the weekend. The tally marks an improvement from the 11 participating teams in 2011 and it will be the first time so many UCI Pro Teams have entered. UCI Officials and the a television crew from ESPN will be in Tobago again in 2012 while the UCI President Pat McQuaid has also indicated an interest to make the trip. The UCI Pro Teams will include Kelly Benefits (USA), Rapha Condon (UK), EkoÏ.com/Gaspesien (Canada), RC-Gourmetfein Wels (Austria) and Team Node4 Giordana (UK).
