WinTV Cal­cut­ta Sports were crowned cham­pi­ons in the in­au­gur­al Peo­ple Em­pow­er­ing Peo­ple (PEP) T20 crick­et ground at Cal­cut­ta on Sun­day. The Cal­cut­ta boys got the bet­ter of Es­per­an­za in front of good crowd at Cal­i­for­nia in Cou­va.

Bat­ting first, Es­per­an­za with for­mer na­tion­al play­er Shaz­am Bab­wah at the helm, made just 65 all out in a match re­duced to 15 overs per side. Cal­cut­ta Sports then romped to vic­to­ry at 66 for three in 12.4 overs with Ricky Sieuchan get­ting 22 not out and Eton Bhal 29 not out. In the third place play-off runs was aplen­ty as Al­ma Sports took a sev­en-wick­et vic­to­ry over Plat­inum. Plat­inum bat­ted first and scored 134 for three off 15 overs. Al­ma Sports then made light work of the tar­get get­ting to 136 for three off 14 overs with Aniel Bhu­dan get­ting 65 and Dar­ius Be­sai 58 not out.
