WinTV Calcutta wins PEP title

WinTV Calcutta Sports were crowned champions in the inaugural People Empowering People (PEP) T20 cricket ground at Calcutta on Sunday. The Calcutta boys got the better of Esperanza in front of good crowd at California in Couva.
Batting first, Esperanza with former national player Shazam Babwah at the helm, made just 65 all out in a match reduced to 15 overs per side. Calcutta Sports then romped to victory at 66 for three in 12.4 overs with Ricky Sieuchan getting 22 not out and Eton Bhal 29 not out. In the third place play-off runs was aplenty as Alma Sports took a seven-wicket victory over Platinum. Platinum batted first and scored 134 for three off 15 overs. Alma Sports then made light work of the target getting to 136 for three off 14 overs with Aniel Bhudan getting 65 and Darius Besai 58 not out.

Third place play-off: 
PLATINUM 134/3 (15 overs) vs ALMA SPORTS 136/3 (14 overs) (Aniel Bhudan 65, Darius Besai 58 no, Sherrif Mohammed 2/18, Shival Sakawat 1/16)—Alma Sports won by 7 wkts.
 
Finals:
ESPERANZA 65/10 (14.5 overs)(Vishal Naipaul 4/9) vs WIN TV CALCUTTA SPORTS 66/3 (12.4 overs)(Ricky Sieuchan 22 no, Eton Bhal 29 no, Shazam Babwah 1/9).
