Former national all rounder Rajendra Mangallie showed that he has lost none of his class as a cricketer, as he exhibited a fine all-round performance to give his club Felicity Sports, the Courts Interzone T20 title. In front of a good crowd at the newest-lighted facility in Central Trinidad, Caldrac’s cricket ground, Mangallie struck 31-ball 48 and then returned to concede just one run off two overs, as C&B United of Tobago was restricted to 84 all out.

C&B won the toss and decided to insert Felicity who had a good start as openers Raphael Estrada (35) and Prakash Jugmohan (16) posted 55 runs in just 6.2 overs. C&B then struck back and reduced Felicity to 62 for three, before Mangallie (48) and Jason Persaud (48) added 94 runs for the fourth wicket, that took the game away from the Tobagonians. Mangallie faced 31 balls and struck four sixes and one four, while Persaud faced 37 balls and struck three sixes and two fours.

The pick of the bowlers for C&B United was Leroy Kerr with 3/32. C&B chasing a target of 172 needed a good start which they never got, as half their side was down by the seventh over of the innings. Of the first seven batsmen only one in the form of Marcus Daniel was able to get into double figures. With the score at 39 for six and some fans leaving the venue, Kerry Cordner (19) and Ashworth Burnett (18) struck some lusty blows but it was a case of too little, too late. Narvin Mungaroo was the man who started the demolition and finished with three for 12, while Beetan Ram took two for 24 and Varune Ramnarine two for 15. Towards the end of the innings Sunil Lall came on and grabbed two for two off 1.2 overs.
