The T&T Boxing Board of Control officials are currently considering between three fighters to go up against WBC Cabofe Light Heavy Weight Champion Kirt Sinnette at Unified Boxing Promotions' upcoming card scheduled for the Woodbrook Youth Facility on August 30. The board has sent proposals for Cuban Yordanis Despaigne (9-2-0), American Yusaf Mack (31-4-2) and Colombian Eleider Alvarez (9-0-0) to the WBC for its approval. The winner of the fight with Sinnette will gain a shot a current WBC Lightweight Champion Chad Dawson.
Meanwhile, Sinnette has been hard in training, tightening up on all aspects of his game. "Bring whoever," he said. "I've waited so long for an opportunity like this. You could bring all three, I fighting them." UBP's Giovanni Potts said the negotiations become more treacherous at such a high level. "We've have had offers from all over the world but before the end of the week, we would have an opponent and we're moving forward. "As we go forward towards celebrating our 50th Anniversary of Independence this sporting event will be able to show the world what we have to offer."
