Chairman of the T&T Karate Federation (TTKF), Darryl Williams, has been promoted to Sichidan (7th Degree Black Belt) by the All Japan Seishinkai Karate Federation (AJSKF). His grade is officially registered in the Black Belt registrar of the World United Karate Organization (WUKO).
Williams is an accomplished coach and referee and occupies many leadership positions in the karate community. He is the co-ordinator of referees for the WUKO and head on the United States Sport Specialty Association (USSSA) National Karate Referee Program and also serves as their Director of International Relations. He is also chairman of the Panamerican United Karate Union (PUKO) Referee Council.
He was recently appointed Pan American representative for the International Seishinryu Karate Federation (ISKF) of Hokkaido, Japan. Soke Katsumi Okubo, 9th Dan is head of ISKF and a special adviser to TTKF. Sensei Williams is well sought for conducting referee courses and technical workshops in accordance with the WUKO karate rules. He has been in karate since 1970 and a referee since 1984. He operates Bassai Karate Dojo-International out of Orlando, with member clubs in New York, Canada, St Lucia, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago.
