T&T's Breana Stampfli cruised into the Girls Under 18 quarterfinals of the Coca Cola ITF Junior Tennis Tournament with a clinical 6-1, 6-0 win over the Bahamas' Daniella Andrea Thompson at St Lucia's National Tennis Centre yesterday. The 16-year-old, ranked 537th in the world and seeded third in the tournament, will come up against El Salvadoran seventh seed Nancy Menjivar today for a spot in the final four.
Menjivar has already sent home one Trinidadian, having whipped Dominique Coutain 6-0, 6-0 in the second round yesterday. Meanwhile, Joshua Abraham's run in the Boys Under 18 Singles came to an end when he was beaten 6-1, 6-4 by Canadian Jack Van Syke in the second round.
