T&T’s 19-and-under water polo team will splash off the 17th Pan American Junior Men’s Championships against neighbours Venezuela from 2 pm today at the Olympic Park Sports Centre’s swimming pool, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The local squad is hoping to emulate the 17-and-under boys who qualified for the World Junior Championships in Perth, Australia, in December. T&T will have to get past champion Brazil, Argentina and host Canada in its five-team round-robin Group A while USA, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Puerto Rico compete in Group B.  At the end of the series on Wednesday, the top four teams will qualify for the cross-over quarterfinals followed by semifinals, final and third-placed playoffs. The fifth-placed teams in each will meet for the ninth and tenth spots. There is also a six-team junior women’s event featuring Puerto Rico, Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, USA and the host country.

T&T team: Andrew Too-A-Foo, Christian Chee Foon, Shaquille Mitchell, Daniel Tardieu, Daniel Alvarez, Kieron Emmanuel, Russell Ferreira, Jonathan Gillette, Andrew Clarke, Adrian Hinds, Marc Stauble, Ryan West, Justin Bodden;
