La Hor­quet­ta SA bagged a cou­ple of first half goals to sneak in­to the fi­nal of the Emer­ald Plaza and Apart­ments-spon­sored East­ern Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion (EFA) FA Tro­phy Com­pe­ti­tion, with a 2-1 vic­to­ry over Joe Pub­lic, on Thurs­day. The win­ner, which al­so sits third in the Pre­mier Di­vi­sion League ta­ble, will meet the league-leader Mal­abar FC which thrashed Boss FC 8-0 in the oth­er semi­fi­nal en­counter. For La Hor­quet­ta, which de­feat­ed WASA in the quar­ter­fi­nal, Keron Clarke scored a brace, with his first goal com­ing in the 15th minute, be­fore Joe Pub­lic lev­elled the score with an ef­fort from Kei­th Wyl­lie sev­en min­utes lat­er.

Clarke got his sec­ond goal in the 37th minute which proved to be the match win­ner as Joe Pub­lic, failed to get on the score­sheet for the du­ra­tion of the sec­ond half. Mal­abar, which is top of the league ta­ble, had an eas­i­er task against a poor Boss FC. Stevon Stoute and Dinelle Lopez both record­ed a dou­ble each, with Robert Alex­is, Nor­rel George and Kevon Corn­wall adding one goal, a piece. Boss FC's An­ton DeLeon scored an own goal to make mat­ters worse. The fi­nal­ists will meet for the tro­phy on Au­gust 26 at the Mar­vin Lee Sta­di­um, Ma­coya, from 4 pm.
