La Horquetta SA bagged a couple of first half goals to sneak into the final of the Emerald Plaza and Apartments-sponsored Eastern Football Association (EFA) FA Trophy Competition, with a 2-1 victory over Joe Public, on Thursday. The winner, which also sits third in the Premier Division League table, will meet the league-leader Malabar FC which thrashed Boss FC 8-0 in the other semifinal encounter. For La Horquetta, which defeated WASA in the quarterfinal, Keron Clarke scored a brace, with his first goal coming in the 15th minute, before Joe Public levelled the score with an effort from Keith Wyllie seven minutes later.
Clarke got his second goal in the 37th minute which proved to be the match winner as Joe Public, failed to get on the scoresheet for the duration of the second half. Malabar, which is top of the league table, had an easier task against a poor Boss FC. Stevon Stoute and Dinelle Lopez both recorded a double each, with Robert Alexis, Norrel George and Kevon Cornwall adding one goal, a piece. Boss FC's Anton DeLeon scored an own goal to make matters worse. The finalists will meet for the trophy on August 26 at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, from 4 pm.
