Top seeds An­jali Ramhit (Suri­name) and Patrick Sydow (Aru­ba), eased in­to the sin­gles semi­fi­nals on third day of ac­tion on Wednes­day at the 13 & Un­der Caribbean De­vel­op­ment Cham­pi­onships at the Shaw Park Courts. Ramhit eas­i­ly beat Afruica Gen­tle (Guyana) 6-0, 6-0 while sec­ond seed Ilana Black­wood (Bar­ba­dos) dis­missed Megan Williams (St Lu­cia) 6-0, 6-1. Ramhit will play Black­wood's team-mate Jamie Lewis, who over­came host play­er Em­ma Davis in three sets. Davis took the first set 6-1, but Lewis ral­lied to take a close sec­ond set 7-6 (6), be­fore sur­viv­ing a long third set win­ning su­per tie break­er 19-17. Black­wood will face Suri­name's Anouk Ma-Ajong who whipped Evelyanne Kel­ly (Aru­ba) 6-0, 6-2.

In the boys's sin­gles, top rat­ed Sydow got by Shiv­ar Ramkalup (Suri­name) 6-3, 6-3 and will face fourth seed Jean-Phillipe Mur­ray (St Lu­cia) for a place in the boys sin­gles fi­nals. Mur­ray over­came Bran­don Jones (Bermu­da) 6-3, 6-2. Sec­ond seed Uk­pi­oron­fo Oron­fo Iko­lo bat­tled past Cordell Williams Jr. (An­tigua and Bar­bu­da) 6-4, 6-1 to set up a semi­fi­nal match up with num­ber three play­er, Joshua Arnold (T&T) who beat Luke Stir­ling (Bermu­da) 6-2, 6-4. The boys sec­ond and fourth seed dou­ble teams were knocked out at the quar­ter fi­nal stage . The num­ber two ranked Bermu­dan pair of Bran­don Jones and Luke Stir­ling fell to the host play­ers Kobe James and Joshua Arnold who pre­vailed 6-4, 3-6 (10-6) in the first of four quar­ter fi­nal match­es. Fourth seeds Shaivar Ramkalup (Suri­name) and Ser­rio Yan­nick Finies (Bonaire) were beat­en by the Aruban duo of Patrick Sydow and Kevin Yarza­garay who won 6-1, 6-3. The Arubans had ear­li­er beat­en the An­tigua and Bar­bu­da team of Jus­tice Christo­pher and Cordell Williams Jr. 6-1, 6-3 in the sec­ond round.

Top seeds, Grena­da's Mick­el Alexan­der and Uk­pi­oron­fo Oron­fo Iko­lo over­came the Bar­ba­di­an/Trin­ba­go com­bi­na­tion of Gabriel Tay­lor and Adam Scott 6-3, 4-6 (10-6) and faced the Arubans in the first semi­fi­nals. Arnold and James came up against the three seeds St. Lu­cians Adriel Bous­quet and Jean Phillipe Mur­ray who whipped Khalid Gob­in and Kee­son Re­ece of Guyana 6-0, 6-2. The semi­fi­nals was con­test­ed late yes­ter­day. In the boys sin­gles con­so­la­tion ac­tion, Kobe James (Trinidad and To­ba­go) beat Keshon Re­ece (Guyana) 6-2, 6-4 while sec­ond seed Jus­tice Christo­pher (An­tigua and Bar­bu­da) eased past Adam Scottt (Trinidad and To­ba­go) 6-1, 6-2. Kevin Yarza­garay (Aru­ba) tri­umphed over Khalid Gob­in (Guyana) 6-0, 6-1. James will play top seed Gabriel Tay­lor (Bar­ba­dos) while Christo­pher will come against Yaraza­garay. The Girls Sin­gles and Dou­bles Semi­fi­nals will al­so be staged on Thurs­day. The fi­nals are set for Fri­day 31 Au­gust with fol­low­ing day set a the re­serve day.
