The Unity Cycling Tour of T&T will continue today with Stage 8, which will take cyclists from the Brian Lara Promenade to the Frisco Junction in San Fernando. Following Wednesday’s aborted seventh stage in Tobago, the 100-plus riders had a day off yesterday, and will be chasing honours in today’s stage which is named after Compton Gonzales. Police failed to show at Wednesday’s event, forcing the stage to be cancelled. Canadian Jean Michel La Chance (Rosetti Devo) was victorious on stage six of the tour. La Chance made his move in the final lap and held off the chasing pack by 20 metres.
