Mar­co Fabi­an scored his first three goals of the sea­son-and was in­stru­men­tal in a fourth - to give Chivas de Guadala­jara a 4-0 win over T&T Pro League cham­pi­ons Di­recTV W Con­nec­tion on Wednes­day night at the Om­nil­ife Sta­di­um, Za­popan, Guadala­jara, for its first vic­to­ry in the Con­ca­caf Cham­pi­ons League. The win wit­nessed by 5,310 spec­ta­tors was on­ly Chivas' sec­ond in eight games this sea­son in all com­pe­ti­tions, and moved the 11-time Mex­i­can league cham­pi­on in­to sec­ond place in Group Eight with three points, one be­hind Xe­la­ju. W Con­nec­tion re­mained last with one points from its 2-2 home draw against Xe­la­ju of Guatemala and now face a dif­fi­cult task to ad­vance from the group.

Fabi­an scored in the 53rd, 68th and 92nd min­utes and took a hard shot that W Con­nec­tion goal­keep­er Jan-Michael Williams couldn't hold, re­sult­ing in an­oth­er goal by Car­los Fierreo in the 64th. Chivas, which was with­out in­jured Luis Perez, Omar Arel­lano and Jorge En­riquez, dom­i­nat­ed pos­ses­sion and chances from the start. Even with nine of 11 starters from Sun­day's 2-1 loss to Mon­ter­rey, it was un­able to cre­ate many qual­i­ty op­por­tu­ni­ties un­til the sec­ond half. Er­ick Tor­res put a head­er off the right post in the 25th minute and Fabi­an at­tempt­ed an ac­ro­bat­ic over­head scis­sors kick in the 39th that went in­to the arms of Williams, but it were two of the few se­ri­ous shots Chivas had de­spite re­peat­ed­ly send­ing cross­es in­to the penal­ty area.

Fabi­an fi­nal­ly con­vert­ed for Guadala­jara when Rafael Mar­quez Lu­go un­leashed a left-foot­ed dri­ve from dis­tance that Williams tried to punch clear. But the ball bound­ed down the mid­dle of the penal­ty area and Fabi­an ran on to vol­ley a bounc­ing ball back in­to the net from near the penal­ty spot.

Fabi­an be­came Mar­quez Lu­go 11 min­utes lat­er, tak­ing a shot from be­yond the 18 that Williams again blocked, but the ball bound­ed to the right. Tor­res tried a shot but ap­peared to mis-hit it, on­ly for it to slow­ly roll past a now out-of-po­si­tion Williams and to an un­marked Fier­ro , who sim­ply tapped in­to an open net. The three com­bined again in the 68th, with Mar­quez Lu­go slip­ping a ball down the mid­dle of the area where Tor­res had a touch be­fore Fabi­an fin­ished from the edge of the six. Fabi­an tacked on a fi­nale in in­jury time, run­ning on­to a ball from Luis Morales, round­ing Williams to the left and fin­ish­ing in­to an open net from the edge of the six-yard box to com­plete the worst de­feat for the T&T club in the tour­na­ment's his­to­ry.
