The top seeds all safely advanced to the singles and doubles finals at the end of action on the penultimate day of action at the 13 and under Caribbean Development Tennis Championships at the Shaw Park Courts on Thursday. In the Girls Singles semifinals, number-one-ranked Anjali Ramhit (Suriname) dismissed Jaimie Lewis (Barbados) 6-0, 6-2 and will face another Barbadian, the number two seed Ilana Blackwood in the finals which was set for yesterday. Blackwood got by Ramhit's compatriot Anouk Ma-Ajong 6-4, 6-2. The Girls Doubles final will also be another Suriname/Barbados clash as the number one pair of Ramhit and Ma-Ajong will face their number two counterpart Blackwood and Lewis.
In the semifinals, the Surinamese beat Cavia Belfon (Grenada) and Meggan William (St Lucia) 6-1, 6-2 while the Bajans defeated Afruica Gentle (Guyana) and Evelyn Kelly (Aruba) 6-3, 6-4. In boys singles semifinals, top-ranked Aruban Patrick Sydow blew by fourth seed Jean Phillipe Murray (St Lucia) 6-3, 6-1 and second seed Ukpioronfo Oronfo Ikolo (Grenada) got the better of local player, the third seed Joshua Arnold 6-2, 6-2. In the doubles semis, the top seeds Grenadians Ikolo and Mickel Alexander were ousted by Sydow and his Aruban team mate Kevin Yarzagaray 6-1, 6-4. Third seed St Lucian pair of Adriel Bousquet and Jean Phillipe Murray defeated the local duo of Joshua Arnold and Kobe James 6-3, 6-3 and will face the Arubans for the titles.
