Suri­name's An­jali Ramhit and Patrick Sydow were the most suc­cess­ful play­ers at the 13 and Un­der Caribbean De­vel­op­ment Ten­nis Cham­pi­onships, which end­ed at the Shaw Park Courts in Scar­bor­ough on Fri­day. Ramhit, the top seed, first took the Girls Sin­gles ti­tle beat­ing sec­ond-seed Ilana Black­wood of Bar­ba­dos in two straight sets, 7-6 (4), 6-0. The Suri­namese came in­to the tour­na­ment ranked at 29th in the Cen­tral Amer­i­can and Caribbean re­gion, 19 places be­low her Bar­ba­di­an ri­val (tenth). In the semi­fi­nals on Thurs­day, Ramhit dis­missed Black­wood's Ba­jan team-mate Jaimie Lewis (6-0, 6-2) while Black­wood got the bet­ter of an­oth­er Suri­mame play­er Anouk Ma-Ajong, 6-4, 6-2. The four play­ers met again in the Girls dou­bles fi­nals with the South Amer­i­can girls com­ing out on top again, as the num­ber one rank pair of Ramhit and Ma-Ajong took the crown ahead of Black­wood and Lewis, 6-3, 6-1.

Suri­name was lat­er named the top coun­try among the ten par­tic­i­pat­ing na­tions with 34 points to fin­ish ahead of Aru­ba (28) and Grena­da, Bar­ba­dos and St Lu­cia who all tied for third (19), T&T placed sixth. Sydow helped Aru­ba to sec­ond spot with his tri­umphs in the boys sin­gles and dou­bles fi­nals. The top seed­ed Aruban bat­tled past sec­ond seed Grena­di­an Uk­pi­oron­fo Iko­lo in three sets 6-1, 4-6, 6-0. Sydow re­turned to snatch the dou­bles crown with his Aruban part­ner Kevin Yarza­garay. The un­seed­ed pair topped the fourth seed team of Jean-Phillipe Mur­ray and Adriel Mur­ray of St Lu­cia 7-6 (4) and 6-4.

In the semi­fi­nals, the Arubans up­set the num­ber team of Uk­pi­oron­fo Iko­lo and Mick­el Alexan­der (Grena­da) in the semi­fi­nals in three sets 6-3, 4-6 ,(10-6). Mur­ray and Bous­quet dis­patched the home­town pair of Joshua Arnold and Kobe James 6-3, 6-3 in the sec­ond semi­fi­nal. Ser­rio Yan­nick Finnies (Bonaire) was vot­ed the most dis­ci­pline play­er of the tour­na­ment. The week-long tour­na­ment saw 29 play­ers (19 boys and ten girls) from ten Caribbean coun­tries. The match­es were su­per­vised by ITF De­vel­op­ment Of­fi­cer, An­tho­ny Je­re­mi­ah and Ref­er­ee An­tho­ny Jame­son. The tour­na­ment di­rec­tor was Dun­stan De­noon. The spon­sors were the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA) and Oa­sis Wa­ters. Teams were housed at the Mt Irvine Bay Ho­tel.
