Sun Crest gives $60,000 to Golf for Life charity

Sun Crest International, distributor of the Wellman range of products, has pumped $60,000 into the second annual Golf For Life fundraising tournament being hosted by the Rotary Club of St Augustine at the Millennium Lakes Golf and Country Club in Trincity on Saturday. For the second straight year, Sun Crest has supported the event with the funds raised going towards assisting Heartbeat International of T&T (HBITT) in providing pacemakers and defibrillators to needy patients throughout T&T along with other charities supported by the Rotary Club of St Augustine. 
 
 
President of the Rotary Club of St Augustine, Vishnu Balroop said: “The tournament was very successful last year, enabling the club to assist patients who had no access to these life-saving devices. “From the 2011 tournament, we donated $95,000 to HBITT and $25,000 to Heartbeat International Regional Distribution Centre of T&T.” The golf tournament will target 50 teams of two golfers from throughout the Caribbean, who will vie for ten pairs of attractive prizes.
 
 
Chairman of golf tournament committee and past-president of the club, Krishna Boodhai expressed his gratitude to Sun Crest International Ltd as well as all the other sponsors, and urged new teams to come out and enjoy a day of good golf, food and excellent prizes. Director of Sun Crest International, Annie Singh added, “Sun Crest International Ltd is pleased to be associated with the Golf for Life charity tournament as our company recognises the important work of the Rotary Club of St Augustine in assisting charities throughout the country.”
