Sarah Taylor is adamant England women will not take their foot off the gas as they look to continue their dominance of West Indies in the NatWest International T20 series. Taylor compiled a fluent half-century as England moved 2-0 up in the five-match rubber with a convincing 28-run victory at Old Trafford on Monday. That triumph came hot on the heels of an eight-wicket win at the Emirates Durham ICG, but England's wicketkeeper insists complacency will not creep in ahead of game three at Wantage Road today. "We're not allowed to be complacent in this set-up, which is brilliant for us," Taylor said. "West Indies showed at the end (at Old Trafford) that they can be quite dangerous, so by no means do we think the next three games will be simple.
"It's literally a case of taking each game as it comes. We've done extremely well in the first two games, but we're going to have to park that and hopefully put on more good performances. "We know we've still got areas we can improve on and going into the next three games we'll look to do that." Such an attitude is typical of a side now unbeaten in 19 matches in the shortest format.
Belief in the camp is clearly high, yet there is no place for over-confidence or arrogance. This is emphasised by Taylor's response when asked if she is now batting better than ever before. "I'm going to say yes, but I still think there is a lot more to come from me," she said. "It's more the consistency basis I would like to improve on, but hopefully that will come if I keep working hard."
