Soca Warriors winger Lester Peltier scored his second goal of the season for Slovakian Premier Division club, Slovan Bratislava, the winner in a 3-2 Cup clash over Zlate Moravce at the Stadion Pasienky, Bratislava on Tuesday. Argentine defender, Nicolas Gorosito fired the host ahead as early as the seventh minute but Moravce hit back with goals from Adrian Candrak in the 18th and Michal Skvarka, eight minutes into the second half for a 2-1 lead before Marko Milinkovic got the equaliser in the 67th minute followed by Peltier's winner nine minutes later.
On Friday, the 24-year-old Peltier, who joined the club in the off season and was not called up for training by T&T interim senior team coach Hutson Charles for the Caribbean Football Union Cup first round qualifiers next month, was also on target in his team's 5-2 league whipping of ninth-placed Nitra. The win maintained his club's hold on the top spot in the Super Liga 12-team table with 20 points from ten matches, three more than Zilina, while his former club, Trencin, is third with 15 points.
Up next for Bratislava is a meeting with mid-table Dukla on Saturday. Over in Kazakhstan, 21-year-old T&T defender Robert Primus and his Aktobe squad suffered a narrow 4-3 loss in a rescheduled Premier League match before their home fans at the Ortaliq Stadion, Aktobe, Wednesday to remain in sixth spot with 30 points from 22 matches. On Sunday, Primus, who has been named as one of the overseas-based players in Charles' training squad also featured the entire 90 minutes for his team in a 2-0 win against Atyrau at the Stadion Munaysi, Atyrau. At the top of the table is Shakhter Karagandy with 47 points from 23 matches, five ahead of Irtysh and Tobol while Astana and Tara are next with 41 points apiece. Aktobe next faces Astana in the Premier League on Wednesday. Meanwhile, in Belgium, there were 6-0 Cup wins for KW?Mechelen and Racing Genk, the clubs of Sheldon Bateau and Khaleem Hyland, over Bertrix and Union St Gilloise, respectively.
