A first half hat-trick from Omeku Barbour paved the way for an easy 4-0 win for La Horquetta over Boss FC in a one-sided Emerald Apartments and Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association (EFA) League Cup final, on Sunday. The match took place at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Macoya, with all four goals coming in the first half.
Barbour opened as early as the sixth minute, and there was no looking back for La Horquetta as the team doubled up less than five minutes later when Keron Clarke found the back of the net. Barbour scored his second and La Horquetta's third goal in the 23rd minute, before completing his hat-trick in the 34th minute, allowing for a more relaxed effort in the second half.
La Horquetta secured a place in the final with a 2-1 win over Athletico SI, with Kern Robinson on target with the opener and Clarke scoring the winning goal, after the scores were level at 1-1. Boss, meanwhile, had a much more uphill task en route to the final, but managed to scrape through via a similar 2-1 victory over the 2011 League Cup holder and current league leader Malabar FC.
