Queen's Park con­tin­ued their 100-per-cent win­ning records in both the men's Open and mixed Vet­er­ans Di­vi­sion of the T&T Hock­ey Board In­door Cham­pi­onship at Wood­brook Youth Cen­tre, Hamil­ton Hold­er Street, Wood­brook, on Mon­day night.

In the men's Open, Shawn Lee Quay and Do­minic Young got two goals apiece for the Parkites to de­feat De­fence Force in a clash of un­beat­en teams. The win car­ried Queen's Park to max­i­mum nine points while De­fence Force which got its goals from na­tion­al duo, Mick­ell Pierre and Mar­cus James, stayed on six points.

Malvern al­so se­cured its first win af­ter two de­feats with a 5-0 thump­ing of Coro­na Fa­ti­ma led by a hat-trick from na­tion­al Un­der-21 for­ward Tariq Mar­cano and one each from Ja­son Clark and Jo­mal Job while Notre Dame and Paragon drew 2-2 for their first points.

Queen's Park vet­er­ans fol­lowed in the same vein as their club­mates with a 5-1 whip­ping of Carib in­spired by a Dou­glas Hay brace for their fourth vic­to­ry from as many match­es to lead the sev­en-team round-robin ta­ble with max­i­mum 12 points to be cer­tain of a semi­fi­nal spot.

Raphael Govia, Azad Ali and Neil Lash­ley added one each for QPCC while Kern Ram­sam­my got Carib's lone re­ply. In the oth­er vet­er­ans' match, Malvern im­proved to six points af­ter a 2-0 shut-out of Po­lice with Derek Alexan­der and Shawn "Bar­ney" Alexan­der (no re­la­tion) on tar­get.
