Queen's Park continued their 100-per-cent winning records in both the men's Open and mixed Veterans Division of the T&T Hockey Board Indoor Championship at Woodbrook Youth Centre, Hamilton Holder Street, Woodbrook, on Monday night.
In the men's Open, Shawn Lee Quay and Dominic Young got two goals apiece for the Parkites to defeat Defence Force in a clash of unbeaten teams. The win carried Queen's Park to maximum nine points while Defence Force which got its goals from national duo, Mickell Pierre and Marcus James, stayed on six points.
Malvern also secured its first win after two defeats with a 5-0 thumping of Corona Fatima led by a hat-trick from national Under-21 forward Tariq Marcano and one each from Jason Clark and Jomal Job while Notre Dame and Paragon drew 2-2 for their first points.
Queen's Park veterans followed in the same vein as their clubmates with a 5-1 whipping of Carib inspired by a Douglas Hay brace for their fourth victory from as many matches to lead the seven-team round-robin table with maximum 12 points to be certain of a semifinal spot.
Raphael Govia, Azad Ali and Neil Lashley added one each for QPCC while Kern Ramsammy got Carib's lone reply. In the other veterans' match, Malvern improved to six points after a 2-0 shut-out of Police with Derek Alexander and Shawn "Barney" Alexander (no relation) on target. Matches continue today from 6 pm in the men and mixed veterans divisions.
